Written in 1830 for Chopin’s older sister, Ludwika, this Nocturne saw its first publication 26 years following the composer’s passing. Often dubbed the “Reminiscence” Nocturne, it encapsulates a romantic, dreamy essence, evocative of the nighttime ambiance.
This is one of my favorite songs by @andrewlloydwebber, and I dream of performing it with a beautiful Christine Daaé (soprano) one of these days❤️
“Nessun Dorma,” but just like “The Sopranos”🤓 Giacomo Puccini’s opera, Turandot, features one of the most famous tenor arias in opera. Sung by Calaf, a prince who falls in love with the cold-hearted Princess Turandot, he expresses his determination to win her love, declaring that none shall sleep until he has succeeded.
Astor Piazzolla’s “Oblivion." Lost in the symphony of memories, where love once felt as heavy as linen and velvet, it is now a fleeting melody in a mahogany bar – a dance that fades into oblivion.
While this piece is based on several artworks by Sargent Claude Johnson (1887-1967), this is what I envisioned as I performed this specific section of William Grant Still’s “Mother and Child” during my first @UNC_Colorado’s doctoral violin recital on February 14, 2022...
