A week earlier, Elvin Bishop had a show there. There was a horrific incident. Druken hoodlums threw rocks and from a distance stoned to death 11 animals at the zoo. The night of the show I saw (not the Elvin Bishop catastrophe) the Oakland police locked the front gates at 8pm. Hundreds of show goers braved a one way exit on a cliff and entered the event. There was free beer and no animals or people got hurt. When this bad ass cop with war tattoos covering his arms told me to go up on the stage and cancel the show, I responded, look at the contract. Read rule #1. It states that the contract must be signed by the adult responsible for the event. Then I added read rule #2, the adult responsible must be over 18. I said, I am 17 and I exercise my right as a minor to remind the contract for the event. I then crossed my arms and turned my back on him and his colleagues. They harassed us. When they went in we took the beer out then brought it back in when they went out. The show ended at 1am without any events. There was however a small window in the stage door that was cracked.
