Juan Luis Guerra was born Juan Luis Guerra Seijas in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on June 7, 1957. He is a singer songwriter whose primary music styles are Bachata and Merengue. His music career debuted in 1984 when he released his first album, "Soplando" with his group known as 440. The group members were Maridalia Hernández, Roger Zayas-Bazán, and Mariela Mercado. As of 2010, Juan Luis Guerra y 440 have 14 albums.
