Gasellit sai alkunsa ystäväporukan hauskanpidosta vuonna 2009 ja on vuosien saatossa noussut kahdeksan albuminsa sekä lukuisten suosittujen kappaleidensa (kuten Imus, Laulu ilman sanoja feat. ABREU, Kuvittele meidät siellä ja Mitä mä Malagas feat. JVG) myötä yhdeksi Suomen suosituimmista yhtyeistä. Melodista rap-musiikkia tekevän yhtyeen suosiosta todistavat muun muassa kaksi Emma-palkintoa, neljä platina-albumia sekä kärkisijat niin albumi- kuin Spotifyn TOP 50 -listoillakin.
