Barry Manilow (born Barry Alan Pincus, June 17, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York) is an adult contemporary and soft rock musician. He began his career in the 1960s, writing TV jingles for companies like State Farm Insurance, Dr Pepper, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. In 1969, he signed to Columbia/CBS Music. He released his self-titled debut studio album four years later. It was the first of over 30 albums to appear on the US Billboard 200 chart, with 2006’s “The Greatest Songs of the Fifties” reaching the top spot, though the live album “Barry Manilow Live” (1977) was his first album to reach number. Some of Manilow’s most popular songs include “Mandy,” "I Write the Songs," "Looks Like We Made It,” "This One's For You,” “Can’t Smile Without You,” "I Made It Through the Rain" and "Copacabana" for which he won a Grammy in 1978. He’s been married twice, to Susan Deixler (1964-1966) and Garry Kief (2014-present). He is 1943-06-17 years old.
