Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, Shaggy achieved international recognition with "Boombastic," which won the 1996 Grammy for Best Reggae Album. He continued to deliver a string of popular songs, cementing his status as a pop-reggae sensation. In 2000, Shaggy released his fifth album "Hot Shot," which peaked at number one in the US. It also featured the chart-topping singles "It Wasn't Me" (featuring Rikrok) and "Angel" (featuring Rayvon) while his engaging rendition of Mungo Jerry's "In the Summertime" (also featuring Rayvon) showcased his artistic versatility.
