Le Band Extraordinaire, from Brighton, UK, blend melodic pop hooks with arrangements that recall a kind of twisted vaudevillian cabaret, twinned with experimental indie-rock; Blazing horns, intricate guitars, frenzied drums and enigmatic vocals create a quintessentially English sound, unique in their combination of diverse influences. They have recently played sold out shows alongside The Noisettes (Mercury) Wild Beasts (Domino), Amanda Palmer of the Dresden Dolls (Road Runner) and The Fiery Furnaces (Thrill Jockey).
