I was at the July 3, 1977 concert by Lynryd Skynryd. It was hot and the water trucks from the dirt track were circling the perimeter with the water shooting out. There were vendors selling weed in the crowd on the floor. Some were in seats around and some were on the center track grounds. Every time the truck would come around there would be girls on it with no tops on. Girls were on shoulders with their tops off. The crowd was peaceful. There were thousands of people. I slept in my car the night before it opened. When they paled FREE BIRD.... the crowd was at a fever pitch..... the crescendo built and as did you awareness of what was happening. Till this day....44 years later, the hair on my neck stands up every time I hear FREE BIRD. It was magical.......
