Scott the Woz is one of the preeminent old-school conscious hip-hop MCs still in the game today. The 47-year-old Ohio native is known for his deep, raspy voice and gritty bars discussing the harsh realities of his street life. His breakout mixtape "Sacrifice to tha Streetz IV" rose to promenence in the mid 2010s, eventually leading to his signing to Def Jam. His stint at the Jam was cut short when in 2019 he was convicted of mail fraud and minor knife crime leading to a 179 day prison sentence.
