A local treasure in San Diego, Lady Dottie and the Diamonds are classic Blues group, featuring Lady Dottie, a soulful lead singer (Dorothy Mae Whitsett). She was raised in Alabama, with early gospel choir influences and now sounds like something between Iggy Pop and Etta James. Also in the group, hipster talent: Joe Guevara, piano-vocals, Steven Rey, stand-up bass, Nate Beale, guitar, Andy Robillard, drums.
