 Russdudeman November 30, 1984 at the Oakland Collesium. Dio on The Last in Line tour with Dokken opening. Was supposed to be working at a high school football game but skipped out to go to this show. Good set by Dokken with the mighty George Lynch on guitar on the Tooth and Nail Tour. Then Dio came out and put on a great show. Went to this one with my best friend at the time Chris and his cousin Wig. Chris ended up turning me on to many bands that I fell in love with like Pink Floyd, UFO, Nazereth, Black Sabbath and a whole bunch more. Dio / Dokken Sep 15, 2024

I've seen them now somewhere around maybe 30 times. That was the shit for me back then seeing them on the In Rock We Trust tour. Great metal show.  Russdudeman June 10, 1984 at the Concord Pavillion. Three Dog Night with Steppenwolf. The Concord Pavillion was brand new and the backstage I remember was one little bar, a hot tub, and a tiny patio area. Three Dog Night on the 'It's A Jungle' tour.  Russdudeman May 11, 1984 at the Cow Palace in San Fransisco. Van Halen with opening band The Velcros. This was a huge show for me- a real big deal. VH were THE band that year during my junior year at Davis High School. Just a perfect show. I can remember being on the barricade right in front of the band for most of the show- right in front of my heroes. The Cow Palace is truly one of the great concert venues. Nothin' fancy, just a great smokey, sweaty room where with the right band on the right night it doesn't get better. Lots of music history in that building. To this day I have still never seen as big a party in the parking lot of any show- there were bottles everywhere. It was a sight to behold.
