Juan Fernando Velasco nació en Quito, Ecuador. Nunca pensó en ser músico, más bien prefería imaginarse economista, como su padre. De hecho, hizo cuatro semestres en Economía, pero la cosa definitivamente no iba por ahí. La música ya lo había atenazado desde que un compañero del colegio le propuso ser parte de la banda de rock que tenía junto con sus hermanos. La banda se llamaba Tercer Mundo. Ese fue el comienzo.
