The last Genesis album on which Gabriel appeared was 1974's "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway." After leaving Genesis, Phil Collins took over as lead singer. In 1977, Gabriel released "Solsbury Hill," his first single as a solo artist. The following year he released his debut studio album, the first of four consecutive self-titled albums.
