The Hope and the Failure were already very much a movement before Lars Garvey Laing-Peterson was ushered into their company by close friend, business partner, and fellow music enthusiast Daniel Grönblad of Devotion to Trust, who had been filling in on second guitars for a while before Devotion started to record what would be their debut EP, "Everyone Is Sick Or Dying".
