Known for their energetic live performances and improvisational songwriting style, Lifeguard has gained recognition within the Chicago DIY music scene and beyond. Lifeguard was formed in mid-2019 when Kai Slater, Asher Case, and Isaac Lowenstein met at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago.
