In early 2000, Christian Kuffner, busking in New Orleans with his fiddle, spotted Eve playing accordion at the far end of Jackson Square. A night of inspired madness followed, as a ragtag mess of street performers, including a clown on a unicycle screaming "vote Republican" and a white rapper allegedly on the run from the FBI, made a small fortune in the alleys off of Bourbon Street, playing strange pidgin Irish tunes to the generous and drunken Mardi Gras revelers.
