Known for her “high-flying virtuosity” and diamond-cut precision, South Korean Yeol Eum Son (born May 2, 1986, pronounced "Yadum Son") is one of Asia’s most fascinating artists to watch. At the Van Cliburn Competition in 2009 she won the Silver Medal and Steven De Groote Memorial Award for the Best Performance of Chamber Music. The following year, she took Silver again at the XIV Tchaikovsky Competition, along with Best Performance prizes for the Chamber Concerto and Commissioned Work.
