Úir was formed during 2015 in Edinburgh as a collaboration of Scottish and Cumbrian musicians. A raw, natural, atmospheric sound has materialised that draws on inspiration from various genres of music (past and present) brought into focus via black metal. Úir is taken from Ogham, where it is assigned the meaning: Earth, soil or clay.
