Turnip King is an American indie-rock/psych-punk band hailing from Long Island, New York. Formed in 2011 by Lucia Arias (guitar/vocals/songwriting), Christian Billard (drums, songwriting), Cal Fish (guitar, vocals, songwriting) and Nick Kivlen (bass). Within the first few months, they stablished a name for themselves in the underground Brooklyn music scene. Inspired by early 90's indie rock, vaporware, krautrock, and prog rock bands. Their end sound is described as loud shoegaze with dissonant punk and math-rock undertones.
