Their history is a collection of loose folk tales passed along over the years. Nobody knows when they arrived on the scene; they were just sort of everywhere one day, like the Rubik's Cube or those exotic hand-soaps made from various kitchen products. But unlike lavender-oatmeal soap, the music of the ubiquitous Jay Neilson, (the sole member and Wizard behind Thrift Store Romances curtain), is a soaring tribute to life and love, and the musical connections between the two.
