This Machine is Me began with a simple concept, make a unique band not common to their local Columbia, SC music scene. Give the people something different, not just the tough-guy breakdowns and bar-band rock that are ubiquitous in modern rock and rock venues, but a sound that toes the line between rock, pop and electronic music, something that represents both an indie and radio-friendly attitude toward music-making and doesn't lend to the already overpopulated pool of guy-led bands out there.
