This Evening began as a three piece group from Southern California (Long Beach) and played music in the vein of The Fever, Q and Not U, and Elefant. They formed in late 2004 they initially consisted of members Jonny Crymes, Brendan McShane, and Paul White playing regular shows in the So Cal area until their dissolution in 2008. In 2006, This Evening saw the departure of Paul White to form the group The Deepsea Goes. The remaining two members chose not to replace their guitarist and continued for two more years as a duo.
