The Unconscious's 1998 Concert History

The Unconscious formed in the fall of 1986 when Mike and Matt met, and the two started jamming some of Mike's original tunes; they stumbled upon Jack Hanewinkle, the original bass player, and Darren on the same night in the old Cicero's basement bar. Soon after, the four spent a handful of weeks writing songs before they booked a debut show at Cicero's in January of 1987. Right away, the band started to work in Paul Matulef on saxophone and eventually Ed Wolf on trumpet.
