The Taverners were together for 20 years, and during that time did literally thousands of gigs. The group was a vehicle for Alan Bell's songs and their songwriting came along as they tried to collect traditional songs about the Fylde coast. Eventually this led to their performing a mixture of both traditional & original tunes.
