The year 2007, marks the 45th anniversary celebrating the legacy of J.D. Sumner and the Stamps Quartet. Formed originally in 1924, the Stamps name boasts the longest history of any quartet in gospel music industry. That longevity would have been impossible without the blood, sweat and tears of J. D. Sumner. One name is synonymous with the other. That is a part of gospel music history and cannot be ignored.
