The Monkees assembled to be the stars of an American television series of the same name, which ran on NBC from 1966 to 1968. The original lineup was: Micky Dolenz (drums, vocals), Michael Nesmith (guitar, vocals), Davy Jones (percussion, vocals) and Peter Tork (bass, keyboards, vocals) . The October 26, 1986 date isn't listed. Took place in Ruston, Louisiana at Louisiana Tech University with Herman's Hermits, Gary Puckett, and Grass Roots. An old friend and I attended. Even snapped a few pictures with my old "trusty" Kodak 110 Instamatic. Got a "warning" from a guy on the Tech Union Board saying photos weren't allowed (it WAS on the tickets, I was a "rebel" back in those days), but then he winked, said "But I didn't see anything", and walked off.
The Cleveland show was on January 14, 1967. The opening act was the Candy Store Prophets. so, possibly the Apollas performed.
The concert I mentioned would been in 1966.
I saw the Monkees in Cleveland OH, and was in the TV camera shot on the news at 11 PM that night in the crowd. This concert isn't listed. I was hoping to find both the date and the opening bands.
