The Kirkland Turn combine the expressive guitar playing and weathered voice of Daryl Kirkland supported by the idiosyncratic talents of his wife, Katie, who creates an undercurrent of drama with her minimal two-drum set up and haunting trumpet lines. With the stoic presence of Cousin Ian Wallhead on bass, the Kirkland Turn make a music both hushed and psalm-like, shot through with a jagged darkness. Making wonderfully ragged home recordings they release them on their own 'BadJack Recordings' label.
