A "quasi-intellectual, post-punk, art-dance rock group," The JeanMarie is a mainstay of the South Florida independent rock scene. Founded in Miami, FL in 2005, the band consists of five former University of Miami students. The group is fronted by singer/guitarist Sir Heilig, but its energy undoubtedly comes from charismatic bassist Jeffrey Remarkable!. Other members are drummer Jason 'Big Buck' Hunter, guitarist Curtis Mainstream, and keyboardist/singer Richard 'Quiet'n'Respectful' Laüdénraüdy.
