The Excitement! started out as an acoustic solo project by Brad Kinkead (lead vocals) in January 2005 while Kinkead was still a freshman in high school. Over the next two years, Kinkead played the major tri-state area, gathering a devoted following and taking this time to perfect his song writing ability, and show the true potential of his voice. In August of 2007, Nathan Workman (drums) witnessed Kinkead performing live at a local venue. From there, Workman started talking with Kinkead about exploring the possibilities of a full band.
