The Emptys are a band out of Washington DC that formed back in the early 90s. They are comprised of Doug Derryberry playing guitar, Leland Nakamura drumming, Jeff Reich on bass and Mitch Treger has the lead vocal duties. Their lyrics are slightly cynical mixed with bitter and sweet. The music could be compared with other alternative bands from the mid 90s like Barenaked Ladies and Havey Danger only slightly more jazz influenced. Doug Derryberry went on to play guitar for Bruce Hornsby.
