After disbanding the dutch band Gruppo Sportivo, leading member Hans Vandenburg started 'Buddy Odor Stop' as a new project with jazzy influences. This was so unsuccessful that after their 1980's debut album 'Buddy Odor is a Gas' he restored the band Gruppo Sportivo, but this was never as successful as the previous Gruppo era.
