The BC Trees play hip hop with simple, cold beats from the band that highlight lyricist Matt’s socially-concious flow. Their groove-heavy, funky music is inspired by rap’s golden era, especially Tupac, the Wu-tang Clan, Nas, and early Outkast. The BC Trees play the Backstage Lounge, the Railway Club, the Anza Club, Nyala Restaurant, and the Modern, and share the stage with groups from any genre of music. The BC Trees have played two Commercial Drive Car-Free Vancouver days, and the videos from both shows can be seen on Youtube.
