Southern Steel was a band from Miami made up of Jim Goodman (guitar, voice), Spike Warner (guitar), Ed Olszewski (bass) and Greg Orsini (drums). The opportunity came when they sent a tape with 8 songs to a band contest sponsored by Craig Leon (Ramones, Blondie).
