Shayne Orok (born September 17, 1992), who performs under the mononym Shayne, is a Canadian recording artist and singer-songwriter. Born in Ottawa, Canada, he first gained attention through his videos on YouTube under the username 'elshaynez'. In 2010, he submitted a video audition for the first season of "MBC Star Audition: The Great Birth", a reality-singing competition program in South Korea. Despite not understanding Korean, Shayne came to prominence in South Korea after placing third in the first season of the program.
