The Indianapolis-based band Shadeland was formed by longtime friends Allen Kell (vocals/guitar) and Brad Hudgins (drums). The two songwriters played together under a few different band names along with bassist James Wuerch. The lineup was completed with the addition of keyboard player Ian Donahue in 2004. Shadeland released their debut album Escape Plan in March 2005 on Burning Bridges Records. The effort was recorded and mixed by singer/guitarist Allen Kell.
