Secretary began 5,600 feet above sea level in a small mountain town in Southern California, where former Summer at Shatter Creek members Craig Michael Gurwich (vocals, guitar) and Em Maslich (bass, vocals) holed up for six years writing and recording material what would be the basis of the band’s future ep and debut album.
