The Scruffs were a Memphis power pop band in the 70's and 80's. "Meet the Scruffs" debut came out in 1977 to little success, but helped garner a huge cult following. The group had a highly touted on the college scene through the 80's and were an influence on The Replacements. They never really achieved the fame and recognition that the "next big thing" moniker promised.
