Sandra Kolstad is something quite special on the Norwegian popscene, where her experimental pop provides her an exceptional position. Her roots are in the world of classical music, trained as a pianist, giving her a technical and stylistic insight not very common in the world of popular music. But her branches have grown in exciting directions, and the last year Kolstad has impressed increasingly growing audiences both in Norway and other countries with her experimental songwriting, which adds new flavour to the concept of pop.
