Royal City Riot formed on Long Island in November 2006, in the wake of the break up of The Vagabonds, and featuring members of Spider Nick & The Maddogs, The Homecoming Queens, and Kickboxing Fury. Their musical style is a blend of soul, reggae, and ska, creating a sound that is both authentic and unique while still paying homage to the genres' roots.
