Roots Syndicate Concert History

Reggae band Roots Syndicate recorded their only hit "Mockin' Bird Hill" as a tune to a Dutch television commercial. The first version was already recorded in 1951, but producer Jaap Eggermont acknowledged the song's hit potential - even forty-plus years after of its initial recording. Roots Syndicate rushed to the top of the Dutch hit parade with the cheerful song and ended up being a typical one-hit wonder.
