René Alexander van Kooten (Den Haag, 24 december 1972) is a Dutch musical star, singer and actor. He starred in the musical Aïda and Beauty and the Beast, both produced by Joop van den Ende. In 2008 he will play the main character Jean Valjean in the revival of "Les Misérables", which is also produced by Joop van den Ende.
