Radio Jarocho is a New York City-based project devoted entirely to the son jarocho and fandango traditions from southern Veracruz, Mexico. It was born in 2005, under the leadership of Gabriel Guzmán. This group's music is energetic, melodic, and danceable. They write their own material but also perform the traditional son jarocho and fandango repertoire from southern Veracruz, Mexico. Radio Jarocho is the leading band of the genre on the East Coast of the USA.
