Emerging in 2001, Scattergood made a strong first impression with her eponymous Mute-issued debut, which paired confessional, melodic folk-rock with shimmering electro-dance-pop. Subsequent efforts Arrows (2013) and In This Moment (2020) added ambient indie pop and somber, introspective synth pop to her increasingly diverse array of storytelling vehicles.
