"The mostly Lancaster-based quintet Perkasie have been compared to Bright Eyes more than once, which is way off. Rather, these kids'bubblegum baroque-folk is much more in line with Philly's excitable Bee Team and Extraordinaires. For proof, dig the boisterous boy-girl vocals and saloon–style piano on "Down by the Riverside" and the old-timey swagger and wartime imagery of their best song, "The Fightin' 13th." "Ginger Sobs" is pretty great too...
