The Orquestra Sinfônica Do Estado De São Paulo (OSESP) was founded in 1954, but it was in the 1970s that it really came into its own. Since the appointment of John Neschling as artistic director, great efforts have been made to build up a world-class symphony orchestra. A major Step in achieving this was the move to newly renovated premises in 1999.
