Old and New Dreams Concert History

Old and New Dreams was a jazz quartet consisting of trumpeter Don Cherry, tenor saxophonist Dewey Redman, bassist Charlie Haden, and drummer Ed Blackwell. All the members had worked extensively with Ornette Coleman, and the group focused on reinterpreting Coleman's compositions and compositions of their own in a similar style. The group released only four albums over the course of just over ten years (1976-1987).
