Self-produced DIY artist Mike K has emerged from his New Jersey basement with a full-length album whose arresting lyrics and alt-rock attack is consistently interesting. Pretty Sure, despite its alternative aura (and no drums), shows off some sweet vocal blends a la Pet Sounds. Brokedown is reminiscent of Badly Drawn Boy with a touch of Bright Eyes.
