Midnight Band was formed in 1972 by Gil Scott-Heron and Brian Jackson. Brian Jackson is a keyboardist, flautist, composer, and producer known mostly for his work in the 1970s with Gil Scott-Heron. The Brooklyn born Jackson met Gil Scott-Heron while the two were attending Lincoln University (Pennsylvania). Jackson wrote most of the music that he and Scott-Heron performed and recorded.
