MC Honky Concert History

MC Honky is a stage persona of Mark Oliver Everett (or "E") of the alternative rock band Eels. The character is supposedly a disc jockey from Silverlake, California. To support the album I Am the Messiah, an actor would open Eels shows as Honky, to prove that he and E were two separate persons. They also engaged in a comic feud on the Internet, during which E is reported to have said "I hope MC Honky dies of SARS." Rumour has it, the name MC Honky comes from the fact the Honky is a type of 'square' dance.
