Mauro Refosco is a Brazilian percussionist based in New York City and is best known as the touring percussionist for Red Hot Chili Peppers, with whom he has been with since 2011, along with his percussion work for Forro in the Dark and Atoms for Peace. He was born in the city of Joaçaba, Brazil, in the southern state of Santa Catarina. He moved to New York in 1992 in order to pursue his Masters education at the Manhattan School of Music.
